I have been a partner at the practice since 2001 and my special interests at work are mental health, substance misuse, learning disabilities, safeguarding, care home work and team work. I live in Grange over Sands. My interests outside of work are family walks, bike rides and trips in an old campervan. I also enjoy Yoga and running Cartmel Beaver Scouts with my husband Paul.
DR EMMA JONES
I joined the practice in April 2013 and became a partner here in September 2014. I trained in Oxford and moved to Stockport for my early hospital jobs and initial GP training. I am involved in training the next generation of GPs and supervise our GP trainees. I find at the moment our young family tend to occupy most of my time!
DR SHAWN GIBSON
I Qualified from Newcastle University in 2007 and then worked in North Cumbria before moving to Australia for a couple of years. I then came back to the UK and worked in Manchester before moving back to Cumbria where I have family. I enjoy the variety of General Practice but particularly enjoy doing Minor Surgery and seeing Dermatology and ENT problems. Outside of work I enjoy Running and Mountain Biking and spending time with my young family.
DR RUTH BOWMAN
I joined the practice in 2015 having worked in several practices in the area. My specialist areas are Women’s Health (gynaecology and contraception) and Musculoskeletal Medicine (joint and soft tissue problems) including Sports Injuries and joint injections. This keeps me busy with so many active people living in Kendal enjoying the delights of the Lake District. I’m amongst them, you’ll often find me on a mountain bike, road bike or a windsurfer. I enjoy creativity, I’m as happy with a cement mixer as my potter’s wheel!

I returned to Kendal in 2013 with my Welsh husband and we now have two daughters. My special interests are women’s health, contraception and sexual health. Outside of work, you’ll find me at my happiest when I’m swimming in a lake.
