TRAVEL VACCINATIONS & ADVICE
Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate.
If you are travelling abroad, please send us an admin query and request a travel questionnaire to be text or emailed to you. We will then be in touch to make an appointment.
Travel Vaccinations- Free and Private Costs
Travel advice is free on the NHS, however some vaccinations and prescriptions are only available privately, which we do not provide in surgery.
Please note we only offer the following travel vaccinations free on the NHS:
- Typhoid
- Hepatitis A
- Cholera
- Tetanus (as part of combined Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio).
Any other travel vaccinations or malaria tablets will need to be purchased privately from Boots Pharmacy, Staveley pharmacy or a private travel clinic.
We recommend you contact them up to 3 months before date of travel.
Our nurses can provide travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 8 weeks before departure. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.
Select the region you are travelling to find out more.
